T.R.I.P. Stands for
* T. – Test and inspect carbon monoxide, propane and smoke alarms weekly and each time an RV is taken out of storage. Repalce alarms that do not work.
*R. – Replace all carbon monoxide and propane alarms that are more than 5 years old and smoke alarms that are more than 10 years old. The date code for manufacturing date should be on the back of the alarm.
*I. – Install only UL-RV listed carbon monoxide, propane and smaoke alarms. Home alarms do not meet the more rugged environment for RV use. Add these alarms if they do not have them.
*P. – Prevent tragic accidents by teaching family and friends about the operation of the alarms. You should never ignore a sounding alarm.
